Wolverine Falls
Cisco Branch of Ontonagon River, eight miles W of Paulding. Road 6930.
Then, waterfalls mapping out at approx. west of Road 6930. Take Two Mile Road (527) and then 6930 connects off Two Mile Road (527). 527 is West of the cabin. And, is also the Road that Kakabika Falls is on. The time zone changes here (from Central time to Eastern time). So, it will then be an hour ahead. The river is primarily moving water for the next several miles after Kakabika Falls, followed by a nice long stretch of rockbed rapids culminating in Wolverine Falls, a boulderbed rapid.
Note From A Person Using the Waterway: [I'm not completely convinced that 'Woverine Falls' is marked in the correct place on the topo maps. We once walked trails a good ways upstream of the take-out and saw nothing more than riffles and rips. On the other hand, looking at 'USGS Aerial', there does appear to be some rapids or falls a short distance downstream of the take-out. I have not been back up there to check that in person.].
If you are interested in doing a little hiking in the Ottawa National Forest this might be a good adventure. Let us know what you find. Or, send us some pictures.
